Gunung Sewu Group continues to attract more visitors each year. Now it’s garnering attention from academia as well. Last November, Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) held a collaborative visit to Great Giant Food (GGF), a subsidiary of Gunung Sewu Group, in Terbanggi, Lampung. The brief visit was attended by several representatives from IPB, including the Professors, Directors, as well as Lecturers.
“This visit is aiming to open a wider communication channel between IPB and Gunung Sewu Group in order to explore potential collaboration in both scientific and non-scientific fields”, said Djony Wesida, HR Director – Plantation of GGF.
Having already visited plantations and met with various GGF reps, the participants were also given a chance to visit GGF fruit processing facilities. Sunpride, known to be the most popular banana in Indonesia, is one of fruit brands from GGF. The Company is now the third largest pineapple producers in the world. With the strong company’s portfolio and potential collaboration with one of reputable universities in Indonesia, the participants hope to see beneficial collaboration towards a meaningful progress for the industry.
